Dr. Thomas L. Bryant
Dr. Thomas L. Bryant, was born in Tennessee and delivered by a local doctor and his wife in a 4 room log cabin in 1943, built by his grandfather. The cabin is still standing, and is over 100 years old. At 3 months of age, my family moved back to Detroit. My dad worked at the Dodge Main Plant Factory for 8 years. My sister, Mary Grace, was born in 1951; and my dad, a Baptist minister, decided to return to Tennessee to establish a ministry. Imagine being schooled in the big city of Detroit for 3 years, moving to Tennessee and going to school from grades 4 through 6 in a 2 room school house, with outdoor facilities (no indoor plumbing).
I lived with my grandfather and aunt till my parents built a home in the country on 53 acres my grandfather had given to my mother. Grades 7 and 8 were completed at Vanleer, Tennessee and Montgomery Elementary schools, at Cunningham, Tennessee. Grades 9 through 12 were completed at Montgomery Central High School. I worked at Kroger’s, sacking groceries while in high school. After graduation I worked for the Wiseman Funeral Home in Erin Tennessee, for 1 year doing billing, answering phones, driving an ambulance and assisting with the embalming process. I attended Austin Peay State University for 2 years, and then went to Gupton School of Mortuary Science, graduated, served 1 year apprenticeship at Murphy Funeral Home, Clarksville, Tennessee. I then became a buyer for Scoville, a manufacturer of tire valves, gauges, for the automotive industry, for 3 years. I worked briefly in Nashville, Tennessee for a firm that procured jobs for various individuals. The entire family moved back to Michigan in 1970. I did retail sales for a short period of time. I attended a week-end seminar on Adventures In Attitudes in Minneapolis, Minnesota, received training on how to facilitate the seminar. I facilitated the classes for McDonald’s Corporation, I. D. S., and did a week-end seminar for the University of Michigan which offered graduate credit for the seminar. Mr. Mike Moodrey , Director of Training in Business and Industry at St. Clair College, Windsor Ontario, Canada, attended one of the Adventures in Attitudes seminars I introduced him to. After completing the seminar Mr. Moodrey requested I come to Canada and facilitate the program at St. Clair College. I was with St. Clair from 1975 to 1978. The program was terminated due to an in-house argument thus causing me to be un-employed. I attended a party where one of the attendees mentioned his son had just graduated from Chiropractic School. I thought: “I can do that”. I had been a patient for 7 years, knew Chiropractic worked: horrible stomach problems and hay fever had cleared up after Chiropractic treatment. I filed an application at Life Chiropractic College, Marietta, Georgia, got accepted, attended school, graduating in 1983. I have worked as a Chiropractor in the Detroit Metropolitan area since February, 1984. I worked for the Chiropractor I started as a patient with in 1973. I owned a clinic in Detroit from 1985 till 1991.
I have been with Metro Chiropractic Clinics since 1994.
My goal is the elimination or reduction of your subluxations, reducing the stress on your nervous system. I love what I do and do what I love. It is rewarding making a difference in the lives of others, through Chiropractic.
